IN LUDUS

HI, I'M LAURA!

I design educational tools and learning experiences that use play to open conversations on complex topics.

Through my work, I support educators and families in accompanying the growth of children and adolescents, especially in areas that are often difficult to address, such as comprehensive sexual education.

In my practice, I see every day how play creates space: space to speak, to ask, to understand. This is the approach behind In Ludus.

If you are interested, I invite you to explore it further.

A BIT OF HISTORY

Start

For 6 years, starting in 2009, I started teaching sex education workshops in an elementary school in the city of Buenos Aires. I was the director and I worked on it based on the experiences of the children themselves and every year I added topics based on the emerging issues that I had identified. It was not easy for the teachers to address these topics and they found the challenge difficult.

Discovery

At that moment I realized that I needed resources, interesting activities that would help me encourage boys and girls to talk about sexuality. When I started, there were almost no books and much less games.
At that time, it was difficult for me to talk about topics that made them feel shy and at the same time very curious.

The value of the game

Alongside my work as a teacher, I studied a degree in educational psychology and, although the career has many points in common with teaching, the contributions on learning are substantially richer. This educational psychology perspective gave me the “other piece” that I was missing: playfulness. It was during my career that I realized the enormous value of play in the learning process.

My personal project

In 2015, I left my job as a teacher (although I worked for two more years in a middle school) and at that time I decided to carry out my own project, an initiative that would promote equity and a more just society through comprehensive sexual education with a playful approach. That is how Poner en Juego /In Ludus was born. At that time, it was difficult for me to talk about topics that made them feel shy and at the same time very curious.
