Using play to open conversations on complex topics

I design educational tools and workshops that help educators address sensitive topics with children and adolescents in a more natural and meaningful way.

A different way to approach educational work

In educational settings, we often focus on what needs to be taught.
But knowing what to say is not always enough.
What makes the difference is creating the conditions where something can be said.
In my work, I start from the situation. From what is happening.
From what is not being said yet.
Sometimes this means changing the plan. Sometimes it means waiting.
Sometimes it means allowing something to emerge.

Play becomes a way to open those spaces.

What I do

✔Workshops for educators and professionals
✔ Educational tools based on play
✔ Support for schools and organizations
✔ Design of learning experiences around complex topics

What happens when play enters the scene

In my practice, I often work with children who find it difficult to talk. Through play, something shifts.
While playing, they begin to speak. They share situations, relationships, experiences. Not because they are asked to.
But because they find a space where it becomes possible.

Who's behind it

I am Laura Canals, a teacher with a background in Pedagogy and specialized in sexual education.

I design and develop educational games and workshops that support educators in addressing complex topics with children and adolescents.

How this approach takes shape

TOOLS AS EDUCATIONAL INTERVENTION

These tools are designed to support educators in addressing complex topics through play, creating spaces for dialogue, reflection and participation.
Ciclare

A tool to address menstrual education in a structured yet open way.

Supports schools in introducing topics often left out of formal curricula, while creating a shared language among students.

Grow Up

A way to work on puberty not as isolated content, but as a process that students can explore collectively.

Helps educators approach change, identity, and development beyond purely biological explanations.

Invisible

Designed for early childhood, this tool supports the prevention of abuse and maltreatment by creating spaces where children can begin to recognize, name and express what they experience.

It offers educators concrete ways to approach these topics in a careful and age-appropriate manner, strengthening early awareness and prevention.

Invisible (Bullying)

Focused on bullying, cyberbullying and grooming, this tool helps create conditions where these situations can be addressed openly within educational settings.

It supports educators in guiding conversations, recognizing dynamics and fostering awareness, making it easier for children and adolescents to express what is often difficult to say.
